Definitely, some criminals are so gruesome they're just taking room in this world.

Some crimes are too horrible to keep the criminal alive, and tax payers don't need to be supporting criminals like that.

Should we have death penalty?

No. It is better to let one guilty man go free than to execute an innocent one, or at least that is what we preach. Virtually no Western country maintains the death penalty and, generally, none will extredite any criminal if he would be subject to the death penalty when he is returned to the US. Governor Richardson of New Mexico is/was a firm believer in the death penalty. A bill came to him this year to abolish it. After doing his own investigation he concluded that our judicial system is not sufficient to guaranty that no innocent man would be executed. He signed the bill and now there is no death penalty in New Mexico.
